I am master of Fishing Junk No. unknown, which 筲箕湾

left Shaukiwan at about 12.00 hours on the 25th December,

1939, bound for the sea to fish. On board altogether

were 29 persons.

About 04.00 hours on the 9th January, 1940, my

19 $ 海 junk was anchored off KÍT SHEK Village, HOI FUNG District.

A Japanese motor boat which came from a warship came

alongside my junk. A number of Japanese armed with rifles

boarded my junk. We were all ordered ashore in a sampan.

When we were ashore my junk was set on fire and the motor

boat sailed to another junk. Altogether there were about

50 fishing anchored there and they were all set on fire one

at a time. About 10.00 hours we returned to my junk and

extinguished the fire.

On the 10th January, 1940, at about midnight I

hailed a passing fishing junk No. unknown which towed my

junk back to Shaukiwan. We arrived at 22.00 hours on

尖 沙 the 11th January, 1940. I came and reported at Tsim Sha

Tsui Police Station on the 15th January, 1940, at 11.30

hours.

Damage to junk No. unknown - $4000.00 (H.K:).
